Lebanon Projected Versus Actual Release
A projected date is a planning estimate based on the sentence and facts known when the calculation is made. The actual release date is the day custody physically ends or changes. They can differ. A court order, credit adjustment, detainer, parole condition, misconduct finding, appeal, transfer, or recalculation may alter the path between them. Even an accurate sentence calculation does not show whether another agency will take custody at the gate.
Pretrial detainees have no sentence-based projected date. Their departure may follow bail, recognizance, dismissal, or another order. Bail authorizes pretrial release on the pending case; it does not dismiss the charge. LCCF or PA SAVIN supplies the physical-status evidence, while the UJS docket supplies the legal event. A sentenced county inmate may have a jail calculation. A state prisoner has statutory minimum and maximum dates, with parole eligibility governed by separate rules.
A transfer is another common source of error. Lebanon County's monthly reporting separates people released from LCCF from people transferred to state prison. Someone who leaves the Walnut Street facility for PA DOC remains in custody. The state locator may show the new institution after intake processing, but a delay or absence proves neither release nor transfer.
Terms must stay precise. A review month is when the Board plans to consider or reconsider a case. A Board Action is the final written parole decision. An approved home plan addresses a proposed residence. None is the gate event. Likewise, time served is a sentencing outcome, but another docket or detainer can still prevent departure. The actual movement record resolves whether custody ended, continued elsewhere, or shifted to supervision.
Find a Lebanon Projected Release Date
Identify the current custodian before choosing a source. The Pennsylvania Department of Corrections locator expressly excludes county-facility inmates. It is useful only when a state commitment or active state parole is independently indicated. LCCF-only cases belong with the Lebanon court, jail, and county records channels.
- Open the UJS Case Search, search by participant, and filter to Lebanon County. Match the person and case carefully.
- Read the latest sentencing order for the minimum, maximum, credit for time served, county or state placement, probation, parole, and later orders.
- If LCCF holds the person, call 717-274-5451 and ask what current calculation or custody information can be disclosed. For a durable answer, request the jail's existing calculation and release event through county Right-to-Know channels.
- If PA DOC holds the person, search the Inmate/Parolee Locator by name or inmate number and compare committing county, location, date of birth, and identifiers.
- For state parole, distinguish the minimum date, review month, Board Action, planned release, and active supervised status. Obtain the final decision record when needed.
- Check for another case or detainer, then use PA SAVIN or the responsible agency to confirm the actual departure.
The Lebanon County released-inmate search provides the full county, state, federal, and immigration custody crosswalk. The key is affirmative evidence. A missing name from a roster or locator does not prove that release occurred.
Lebanon DOC Locator Date Limits
The PA DOC public tool has two modes. Inmate mode searches current state custody. Department Supervised Individual mode searches people under current DOC field supervision. Available filters include name, inmate or parole number, sex, committing county, current location, citizenship, and date of birth or approximate age. Supervision mode also includes a field labeled Release Date and district-office or county-of-residence filters.
That Release Date field applies to current supervised-person searches. It is not a projected-date field for a person still in prison. The inmate detail tested for this research displayed identifiers, current and permanent location, committing county, a DOC photograph and photo date, and a data timestamp. It did not display sentence minimum, maximum, or projected or tentative release date.
| Public locator item | What it can establish | What it cannot establish |
|---|---|---|
| Inmate mode | Current PA DOC jurisdiction and location as of the update | A public projected release date |
| Supervised mode | Active state supervision, district office, and release-date search context | County probation or a permanent discharge history |
| No result | Only that no matching current result was found | Release, discharge, or absence of another custody hold |
The official locator coverage page says county jail inmates are excluded and data updates daily. Daily does not mean immediate. The matching interface image shows the search modes used for Lebanon state cases.
The correct next step for a date is the sentencing record and an appropriate existing calculation from DOC, the Board, or LCCF.
Pennsylvania Minimums, RRRI, and SSP
Pennsylvania uses indeterminate sentences. Under 42 Pa.C.S. § 9756, a court states a maximum term and a minimum that is generally no greater than half the maximum. The minimum is the first ordinary parole-eligibility point. It is not automatic release. The maximum is sentence expiration, subject to lawful recalculation and any other custody authority.
Pennsylvania has no verified broad formula granting a fixed number of good-time days like the federal system. The official Parole Process also rejects the common claim that every state inmate must serve 85 percent of the maximum before parole. Publishing an 85 percent calculator would therefore misstate Pennsylvania law and could produce a false date.
RRRI, the Recidivism Risk Reduction Incentive, can create an incentive minimum for an eligible state prisoner. Under 61 Pa.C.S. § 4505, the RRRI minimum is generally three-fourths of an imposed minimum of three years or less, or five-sixths when the minimum exceeds three years. Rounding, sentence aggregation, offense-based exclusions, certification, program completion, conditions, and a public-safety assessment all matter. The number alone creates no right to leave custody.
SSP, the State Short Sentence Parole process under 61 Pa.C.S. § 6137.1, covers qualifying short state sentences. It includes offense, warrant, misconduct, program, and public-safety limits. SSP is not a generic county jail credit and does not replace the sentencing order. For an LCCF county sentence, request the county's current calculation rather than importing either state mechanism.
The state's minimum and maximum explanation visually reinforces those distinctions.
Use the official text to classify the date, then obtain the person's current calculation from the proper custodian.
Why Lebanon Release Dates Change
A release forecast changes when the inputs or legal authority change. The effect depends on whether the person is pretrial, serving a county sentence, or in state custody. No Lebanon-specific rule was found that automatically advances or delays a date because it falls on a weekend or holiday. Confirm operational timing with the facility instead of promising a Friday or Monday departure.
| Factor | Possible effect | Best record |
|---|---|---|
| Time credit or recalculation | Changes the sentence computation | Latest court order and custodian calculation |
| Detainer or another case | Prevents community release or causes a handoff | Docket, warrant or detainer record, and movement entry |
| Parole decision | Grants, denies, defers, or conditions release | Final Board Action |
| Program or home-plan condition | Delays release until a condition is met | Board Action and agency instruction |
| Misconduct or violation | Can change eligibility or lead to recommitment | Agency decision and updated calculation |
| Transfer | Moves custody without community discharge | LCCF movement record and receiving locator |
A detainer is a request or legal basis for another agency to assume custody. It can keep a person confined even after one case authorizes release. An ICE handoff, state-prison transfer, treatment placement under an order, or federal transfer must not be labeled community freedom. Always ask for the release disposition or destination along with the date.
Lebanon County Jail Date Calculation
For a county sentence at Lebanon County Correctional Facility, start with the sentencing order, commitment date, and credit for time served. County parole authority, later court orders, unresolved holds, and the facility's existing calculation determine the usable estimate. PA DOC's RRRI and SSP paths should not be applied mechanically to an LCCF sentence.
A request should identify the person, date of birth, docket or booking number, and confinement. Ask for records sufficient to show the current sentence calculation, actual release or discharge date and time when it occurs, disposition or destination, and authority. Pennsylvania's Right-to-Know Law generally gives an agency five business days to respond or invoke an extension, but it does not require staff to create a new calculation or answer a legal question.
Call LCCF at 717-274-5451 for current information the facility can disclose. A written request can go to the County Open Records Officer at recordsofficer@lebanoncountypa.gov or Room 207, Municipal Building, 400 South 8th Street, Lebanon, PA 17042-6794. The county publishes a standard form and accepts requests for electronic copies or inspection. Redactions and exemptions may apply.
LCCF's public handbook does not publish a date formula for general use. It does show why administrative events after sentencing can matter: funds, property, treatment placement, and institutional transfers follow separate discharge rules. Those details may accompany an exit without defining its legal date. A request for the current existing calculation should therefore remain separate from a request for the later physical release record.
If the court record is unclear, the Lebanon Clerk of Courts is the durable criminal filing office for Common Pleas cases. Its file can preserve sentencing and later orders after a short-lived custody display is gone. The Clerk is in Room 102 of the Municipal Building at the same South 8th Street address and can be reached at 717-228-4419 during weekday office hours. Confirm the room before visiting because an older county policy gives a different reference.
Note: No official Lebanon source publishes a routine release hour, weekend adjustment, public calculator, or online county projected-date field.
Confirm Lebanon County Actual Release
PA SAVIN, Pennsylvania's VINE service, can send alerts for release, transfer, escape, and other custody changes. Search the exact person, compare identifiers, and register for an offered phone, text, email, or app channel. It is an event-notification aid, not a historical archive, and official sources do not promise how long a released result remains visible.
The VINELink Inmate Search explains the Pennsylvania registration and PIN sequence. Pair any alert with the LCCF record for a county detainee or PA DOC and the final Board Action for a state prisoner. If the docket shows a federal sentence, the BOP locator has its own release-date field. That federal date can change and does not resolve other custody.
For a final verification, compare three facts: the legal authority, the physical custody event, and the destination. The UJS docket can show the sentence or release order. LCCF, PA DOC, BOP, or ICE records show which agency had custody. The actual release or movement entry shows whether the person entered the community, began supervision, or moved to another institution.
